Job Description: Managing Consultant

Overview

We are currently seeking a Managing Consultant to join our growing team at Navitas Life Sciences. This core role involves leading client relationships, delivering consultancy projects, and driving business development.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership and Delivery

  • Lead a portfolio of consultancy projects to ensure effective delivery of robust client solutions.
  • Proactively own and lead project delivery from initial brief to final delivery, serving as the primary client contact.
  • Work with clients to define requirements, scope projects, prepare business cases, and statements of work.
  • Prepare project management plans, project structures, controls, reporting tools, and routine status reports.
  • Manage and track project scope, deliverables, risks, issues, dependencies, documentation, and timelines.
  • Drive and manage project resources and profitability.
  • Provide active leadership in client solutions to build the Navitas Life Sciences brand, acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on projects and/or Navitas Life Sciences industry-leading networks.
  • Add gravitas and subject matter expertise to the analysis, design, and implementation of projects.

Business Development

  • Own and build client relationships to generate revenue and drive business growth.
  • Continuously market Navitas Life Sciences services to contribute to revenue ($500k) and sales growth.
  • Conduct new business development activities and develop client-focused, needs-based proposals.
  • Maintain ongoing client relationships to ensure effective communication, develop solutions, and extend relationships (4-5 clients).

Team Management and Development

  • Mentor, train, and coach project team members and colleagues (2-6 project team members).
  • Provide direction, support, and encourage teamwork.
  • Set project objectives, provide routine feedback, and support the development of team members.

Internal Contributions

  • Actively participate in strategic themes, internal projects, and business improvement initiatives.
  • Develop collateral for projects/domain areas such as case studies, new concepts, Points of View (PoV), and best practices.
  • Serve as an internal SME in a defined area, developing, capturing, and disseminating knowledge.
  • Lead company meeting sessions, acting as a role model.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 8 years in a Life Sciences industry or consulting role, including:
    • 4 years in a Senior Consulting role.
    • 3 years in a Life Sciences/Pharma industry role.
    • 2 years in a business development role.
  • Expertise in at least one of the following areas:
    • Patient Safety and Pharmacovigilance
    • Clinical Development Processes
    • Labelling, Regulatory Affairs
    • Risk Management, Quality and Compliance

Evidence of Capability

  • Honed consulting skills, including methodologies and tools.
  • Compelling communication skills and strong facilitation abilities.
  • Strong client and stakeholder management skills, particularly at senior levels.
  • Excellent project management skills, including managing complexity, resources, and profitability.
  • Demonstrated business development success ($500k), including:
    • Lead generation and networking.
    • Conducting client briefs and senior stakeholder meetings.
    • Scoping, requirements gathering, and business case definition.
    • Development of needs-based proposals.
    • Negotiation and contract development.
    • Account and relationship management.
  • Strong leadership skills, gravitas, and self-starter mentality.
