Position Overview

The Managing Director will provide executive leadership for Spherico’s day-to-day operations, strategic direction, and long-term growth. This role partners closely with senior functional leaders to drive innovation, optimize talent, expand client relationships, and deliver strong financial performance.

The position is accountable for organic revenue growth, new business development, client retention, and overall operational excellence while fostering a culture of collaboration, integrity, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Lead the agency leadership team to achieve strategic, operational, and financial objectives aligned with the annual business plan.

  • Define and execute the organization’s long-term strategic vision, ensuring alignment of talent, resources, and processes within approved budgets.

  • Partner with functional leaders across client services, creative, strategy, marketing, and new business to achieve organizational goals.

  • Ensure agency operations, culture, and delivery align with Spherico’s mission, value proposition, and Syneos Health standards.

Client & Business Growth

  • Retain and grow existing client accounts through strategic leadership, thought partnership, and value-driven solutions.

  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities to meet or exceed annual revenue and growth targets.

  • Serve as a senior advisor and counselor to executive-level client stakeholders, including Senior Directors and Vice Presidents.

  • Lead development and delivery of high-impact client presentations and new business pitches.

Talent & Culture Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and inspire high-performing teams to deliver best-in-class healthcare communications and market access solutions.

  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-engagement agency culture aligned with corporate values and the Code of Conduct.

  • Actively support talent development, succession planning, and employee satisfaction initiatives.

Cross-Functional & Enterprise Collaboration

  • Serve as a strategic liaison between Spherico and Syneos Health stakeholders, particularly within Value & Access.

  • Share best practices, drive adoption of enterprise tools, and support cross-functional collaboration across the organization.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum 12+ years of professional experience, including 7+ years within the healthcare, pharmaceutical, or life sciences communications industry.

  • Proven executive leadership experience within an agency, consulting, or healthcare communications environment.

  • Demonstrated success in client relationship management, business development, and revenue growth.

  • Strong strategic thinking, operational leadership, and financial acumen.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is USD 300,000 to USD 335,000, based on experience, qualifications, and role proficiency. Additional incentives may include performance-based bonuses or commissions.
