Role Overview

The Director, Commercial Insights & Analytics is a senior leadership role responsible for transforming complex healthcare data into actionable business insights that drive the performance of Syneos Health Deployment Solutions, including sales, market access, medical affairs, and clinical education teams.

This position serves as the analytics strategy lead, overseeing insight generation, advanced analytics, reporting, and visualization across client and internal stakeholders. The Director leads and mentors a team of analysts and managers while acting as the primary client-facing authority for commercial analytics programs from initiation through close-out.


Key Responsibilities

Analytics Strategy & Leadership

  • Lead commercial analytics strategy supporting promotional, market access, and medical teams

  • Oversee end-to-end analytics lifecycle including data acquisition, analysis design, execution, and insight delivery

  • Act as the point of accountability for quality, accuracy, and timeliness of all reports, dashboards, and insights

  • Drive development of advanced analytics initiatives, including machine learning and predictive modeling

Client Engagement & Delivery

  • Serve as the primary analytics partner for clients from pre-implementation through project closure

  • Gather and define business requirements, KPIs, and success metrics

  • Lead recurring and ad-hoc reporting initiatives including weekly, monthly, and QBR dashboards

  • Translate analytical outputs into clear, business-focused insights for senior client leadership

Team Management & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop analysts and analytics managers

  • Establish best practices for insight storytelling, visualization, and stakeholder communication

  • Provide training to enhance analytical rigor, business acumen, and client-facing capabilities

Performance Measurement & Optimization

  • Measure effectiveness and impact of deployment teams, identifying trends, risks, and growth opportunities

  • Generate insights related to performance efficiency, resource optimization, and commercial outcomes

  • Prepare and maintain detailed analytics workflows outlining inputs, execution steps, and outputs


Required Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, or related field

  • Advanced degree is a plus

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in U.S. pharmaceutical commercial analytics, reporting, and insight generation

  • 5+ years of people management experience, leading analytics teams or managers

  • Proven experience delivering insights across one or more of the following domains:

    • Pharmaceutical commercial operations

    • Market access and managed care

    • Medical affairs or clinical education

  • Experience supporting sales teams, field deployment models, and omnichannel engagement strategies


Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Advanced quantitative and analytical skills using tools such as SQL, Python, R, SAS, and Excel (power user)

  • Strong experience with CRM platforms including Salesforce and Veeva

  • Hands-on expertise with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik

  • Familiarity with U.S. pharmaceutical datasets and commercial data sources

  • Ability to communicate insights effectively to National Business Directors, brand teams, and senior client stakeholders

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual base salary range: USD 148,000 – 178,000

  • Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and role proficiency

  • Eligibility for performance-based bonuses or incentives may apply

  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, flexible PTO, and paid sick leave (location dependent)
