Senior Managing Consultant – Navitas Life Sciences

Location: US – Remote

Job Purpose

The Senior Managing Consultant will lead complex consultancy projects, build and manage key client relationships, and drive business and company development for Navitas Life Sciences. This senior role combines project delivery, business development, thought leadership, and team mentorship to ensure client satisfaction, revenue growth, and organizational success.


Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead a portfolio of complex consultancy projects, delivering robust client solutions.

  • Manage multiple and/or complex projects, acting as the primary client contact.

  • Provide leadership, insight, and gravitas in the analysis, design, and implementation of projects.

  • Oversee project budgeting and financial controls to ensure profitability.

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on projects and Navitas Life Sciences’ industry-leading networks.

  • Bring thought leadership, innovative concepts, and services to client projects.

Business Development & Client Management

  • Conduct business development activities to contribute to sales growth and generate revenue ($500k–$1M).

  • Lead or co-lead 3–4 key accounts to build relationships and drive repeat business.

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through networking, conferences, and industry engagement.

  • Execute the full range of business development activities: lead generation, client meetings/briefs, proposal development, and negotiation.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitor intelligence to maintain a competitive advantage.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Mentor, train, and coach project team members (2–6) and direct reports (1–2).

  • Manage workload and resource distribution across project teams.

  • Plan development of team members to build capability and enhance performance.

  • Provide routine feedback, objective setting, and performance appraisals.

  • Serve as a role model for Navitas Life Sciences initiatives and company culture.

Strategic Contribution & Knowledge Management

  • Lead or co-lead strategic themes, internal projects, and business improvement initiatives.

  • Develop collateral for projects/domain areas (e.g., case studies, PoVs, new concepts).

  • Partner with colleagues to share domain, business, and client knowledge and insight.

  • Actively contribute to company operations and lead company meeting sessions.


Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Industry Experience: 10 years in Life Sciences or consulting, including:

    • 6–8 years in a senior consulting role

    • 3 years in Life Sciences/Pharma industry

    • 3 years in business development

  • Preferred Domains:

    • Patient Safety & Pharmacovigilance

    • Clinical Development Processes

    • Labelling & Regulatory Affairs

    • Risk Management, Quality & Compliance

  • Consulting & Leadership Skills:

    • Advanced consulting methodologies and tools

    • Compelling communication and advanced facilitation skills

    • Senior-level client and stakeholder management

    • Excellent project management (complexity, resources, profitability)

    • Proven business development success ($500k–$1M)

    • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills

  • Educational Qualifications:

    • Strong degree (2:1) in a relevant subject (e.g., Science or industry-related)
