Role Summary
The Senior Pharmacovigilance Associate will be responsible for managing post-marketing pharmacovigilance activities to ensure drug safety, regulatory compliance, and effective risk management.
The role involves:
Adverse event reporting and evaluation
Safety data analysis and signal detection
Regulatory documentation preparation
Cross-functional collaboration
Pharmacovigilance database management
Team training and mentorship
Key Responsibilities
1. Adverse Event Management
Collect, evaluate, and process adverse event (AE) reports
Ensure timely and accurate reporting in line with regulatory requirements
Maintain compliance with internal and global safety standards
2. Safety Data Analysis
Analyze safety data to identify:
Trends
Potential safety signals
Conduct detailed interpretation of pharmacovigilance data
3. Regulatory Reporting
Prepare and submit:
Periodic Safety Update Reports (PSURs)
Other regulatory safety documents
Ensure compliance with international pharmacovigilance regulations
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work with:
Medical teams
Clinical teams
Assess clinical relevance of adverse events
Support risk management activities
5. Database Management
Maintain pharmacovigilance systems and databases
Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance
6. Training & Mentorship
Guide and train junior team members
Share best practices in pharmacovigilance processes and regulations
7. Audit & Inspection Readiness
Support regulatory audits and inspections
Ensure full compliance with pharmacovigilance standards
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in:
Life Sciences
Pharmacy
Nursing
Related fields
Advanced degree preferred
Required Experience
Strong experience in pharmacovigilance / drug safety
Expertise in:
Adverse event reporting
Signal detection
Regulatory compliance
Required Skills
Strong analytical and critical thinking ability
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Experience with pharmacovigilance databases
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
