Role Summary

The Senior Pharmacovigilance Associate will be responsible for managing post-marketing pharmacovigilance activities to ensure drug safety, regulatory compliance, and effective risk management.

The role involves:

  • Adverse event reporting and evaluation

  • Safety data analysis and signal detection

  • Regulatory documentation preparation

  • Cross-functional collaboration

  • Pharmacovigilance database management

  • Team training and mentorship


Key Responsibilities

1. Adverse Event Management

  • Collect, evaluate, and process adverse event (AE) reports

  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting in line with regulatory requirements

  • Maintain compliance with internal and global safety standards

2. Safety Data Analysis

  • Analyze safety data to identify:

    • Trends

    • Potential safety signals

  • Conduct detailed interpretation of pharmacovigilance data

3. Regulatory Reporting

  • Prepare and submit:

    • Periodic Safety Update Reports (PSURs)

    • Other regulatory safety documents

  • Ensure compliance with international pharmacovigilance regulations

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with:

    • Medical teams

    • Clinical teams

  • Assess clinical relevance of adverse events

  • Support risk management activities

5. Database Management

  • Maintain pharmacovigilance systems and databases

  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance

6. Training & Mentorship

  • Guide and train junior team members

  • Share best practices in pharmacovigilance processes and regulations

7. Audit & Inspection Readiness

  • Support regulatory audits and inspections

  • Ensure full compliance with pharmacovigilance standards


Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in:

    • Life Sciences

    • Pharmacy

    • Nursing

    • Related fields

  • Advanced degree preferred


Required Experience

  • Strong experience in pharmacovigilance / drug safety

  • Expertise in:

    • Adverse event reporting

    • Signal detection

    • Regulatory compliance


Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking ability

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Experience with pharmacovigilance databases

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong attention to confidentiality and patient data protection
