Role Overview

The Specialty Care Advisor is a field-based commercial role responsible for driving sales and market development within the assigned territory. The role focuses on promoting specialty care products, building strong relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs), and executing company sales strategies to achieve business objectives.

This position involves scientific engagement, territory management, and coordination with hospitals, pharmacies, and healthcare stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

1. Territory & Sales Management

  • Drive sales performance in the assigned territory (Chandigarh, Punjab, and surrounding regions).

  • Achieve organization-defined sales targets and business objectives.

  • Identify and map potential doctors, hospitals, and institutions.


2. Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with:

    • Doctors and healthcare professionals (HCPs)

    • Hospital pharmacies

    • Hospital authorities

    • Distributors and procurement teams

  • Engage stakeholders to promote awareness of therapy areas and products.


3. Scientific & Product Promotion

  • Conduct scientific discussions with HCPs to support product awareness.

  • Organize scientific meetings and educational activities.

  • Strengthen company brand image and therapy area understanding.

  • Support formulary inclusion in hospitals to enable product usage.


4. Market Intelligence & Opportunity Identification

  • Identify new business opportunities within the territory.

  • Monitor competitor activities and market dynamics.

  • Develop actionable insights to improve sales performance.


5. Reporting & Data Management

  • Maintain accurate sales records and customer data.

  • Ensure timely submission of sales reports and performance updates.

  • Maintain documentation for territory activities.


6. Meetings & Internal Collaboration

  • Participate in:

    • Cycle meetings

    • National Sales Meetings (NSM)

  • Improve product knowledge, selling skills, and competitor awareness.


7. Compliance & Ethics

  • Ensure all activities align with BMS values and ethical standards.

  • Maintain compliance with company policies and industry regulations.


Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in:

    • Pharmacy (preferred)

    • Science-related field

  • MBA preferred (not mandatory)


Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical sales experience

  • Experience in:

    • Delhi NCR and Northern India markets preferred

    • Oncology experience is an advantage

  • Strong understanding of hospital and institutional sales environment
