Salary:
$200,000 – $215,000 annually
(Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, location, and schedule. Additional bonuses, incentives, and benefits may be applicable.)


Position Overview:
IQVIA is hiring a Medical Science and Outcomes Lead (MSOL) – Player-Coach to serve as a key liaison with the medical, scientific, and payer communities in the Cardiovascular and Metabolic (CV/Metabolic) therapeutic areas. This hybrid role combines field medical leadership with team coaching and mentoring responsibilities.

You will directly engage in clinical and health-economic dialogues while supporting a team of MSLs through coaching, development, and performance oversight—balancing peer-to-peer education, field responsibilities, and administrative leadership.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a scientific and medical expert for CV/Metabolic therapies among KOLs, payers, IDNs, and ACOs

  • Facilitate scientific discussions and disseminate clinical and health outcome data with formulary decision-makers and P&T committees

  • Coach and mentor MSLs, helping them refine communication and engagement strategies

  • Deliver compliant, high-quality clinical trial support, including insight gathering and peer education

  • Maintain field accountability: manage CRM documentation, team expense approvals, and other administrative duties

  • Represent the organization in scientific meetings, advisory boards, and booth activities at congresses

  • Collaborate with internal client teams and align engagement strategy with corporate goals


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Advanced degree required: MD, PhD, DNP, or PharmD

  • Minimum 5 years of field medical experience

  • At least 2 years of therapeutic experience in Diabetes, Endocrinology, or Cardiovascular disease

  • Prior experience in administrative duties like expense/timecard approvals is preferred

  • Strong track record of presenting Health Outcomes data to payors and C-suite stakeholders

  • Deep understanding of medical affairs compliance (PhRMA, OIG, etc.) and the drug development lifecycle

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills

  • Self-driven, team-oriented, and able to travel 40–60% as required
