Job Title:

T1D Immunology Medical Science Liaison
Location: US Remote/Field (based in or near Louisville, KY)


About the Role:

The T1D Immunology MSL will be instrumental in advancing scientific and medical innovation to support Sanofi’s autoimmune Type 1 Diabetes (aT1D) portfolio—particularly focusing on teplizumab—with the goal of improving patient outcomes. The role emphasizes strategic planning, KOL development, cross-functional collaboration, and medical engagement at the ecosystem level.


Key Responsibilities:

Account Planning & Execution

  • Develop and gain approval for strategic, account-specific medical plans.

  • Update and adapt plans based on scientific developments and business priorities.

  • Collaborate with the Field Medical Director and cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive, impactful execution.

Medical Engagement & KOL Development

  • Establish and expand a network of KOLs and primary care HCPs.

  • Drive awareness and education around early-stage T1D screening, staging, and monitoring.

  • Participate in local educational and screening events with public health, commercial, and patient advocacy groups.

Scientific Exchange & Insight Gathering

  • Deliver credible, balanced scientific information about Sanofi's aT1D therapies and pipeline.

  • Facilitate peer-to-peer discussions to foster best practices and clinical knowledge sharing.

  • Collect and report actionable medical insights using CRM systems.

Clinical Trial Support

  • Identify and support clinical trial and registry sites.

  • Engage in investigator and site development processes.

Congress & Event Participation

  • Support and lead medical activities at regional/local congresses.

  • Organize and execute medical-led T1D screening events.

Collaboration & Compliance

  • Work cross-functionally with commercial, public health, corporate affairs, and other internal partners.

  • Maintain ethical and regulatory compliance in all activities.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent) in a relevant scientific/medical field (e.g., endocrinology, immunology, pharmacy).

Experience:

  • Prior MSL or similar field medical role within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.

  • Experience with aT1D or in immunology-related therapeutic areas strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated success in executing impactful medical account strategies.

Skills:

  • Strong communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional, matrixed environment.

  • Proficiency with digital tools and CRM systems.

  • Demonstrated agility and adaptability to evolving landscapes.


Travel:

  • Up to 75% travel required for field engagement, meetings, congresses, and events.
