Location: Morristown, NJ / Remote – US Field-Based


About the Role

The T1D Immunology Medical Science Liaison (MSL) plays a pivotal role in supporting Sanofi’s autoimmune Type 1 Diabetes (aT1D) portfolio. This field-based position covers Minnesota and Wisconsin and reports to the T1D Immunology Field Medical Director. The MSL will develop and execute medical strategies and build impactful scientific relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals (HCPs), and institutions across the assigned geography.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Create, update, and implement account-specific, ecosystem medical plans related to teplizumab and Sanofi’s aT1D portfolio.

  • Collaborate with the Field Medical Director to align regional plans with the broader Medical Affairs strategic objectives.

  • Participate in pre- and peri-launch planning for new therapies and initiatives.

Field Medical Engagement

  • Build and sustain scientific relationships with KOLs and HCPs across key accounts and primary care settings.

  • Promote screening, staging, and monitoring for early-stage T1D through peer-to-peer engagements.

  • Support educational and awareness initiatives in collaboration with Public Health, Corporate Affairs, and local communities.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (Medical, Commercial, Public Health) to align efforts and provide scientific expertise.

  • Integrate medical insights into commercial strategies and patient support initiatives.

  • Attend and contribute to internal matrix meetings and external congresses, representing the field medical perspective.

Clinical Research Support

  • Identify and support potential clinical trial and registry sites in the region.

  • Maintain relationships with investigators and sites throughout trial timelines.

Scientific Communication & Data Sharing

  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing across HCP networks and medical accounts.

  • Communicate key scientific data, clinical trial results, and product information in a compliant, balanced, and impactful way.

  • Monitor and report insights and trends relevant to Sanofi’s aT1D pipeline and healthcare practice.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation in CRM of field activities, insights, and outcomes.

  • Adhere to ethical standards and regulatory requirements in all engagements.

  • Promote a culture of scientific excellence and continuous learning within the field medical team.


Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Advanced degree in a scientific or medical field (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD)
    (Focus in endocrinology, immunology, pharmacy, or medicine preferred)

Experience

  • Experience in a field-based medical role in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry

  • Background in aT1D or relevant therapeutic areas strongly preferred

  • Proven success as an MSL or in a similar role with strong stakeholder engagement

  • Demonstrated experience in supporting clinical trials and scientific projects
