🎯 Purpose of the Role

Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Pharmacovigilance (PV) Safety database operations — particularly Oracle Argus.
You will manage day-to-day configuration, maintenance, and system support, ensuring compliance with SOPs, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
You’ll also deliver technical solutions, oversee system implementations, and provide administration support for PV Safety initiatives.


⚙️ Key Responsibilities

🔹 System Administration & Configuration

  • Oversee daily configuration and maintenance of Oracle Argus Safety Database.

  • Manage system upgrades, enhancements, and change control processes.

  • Create new tenants and develop distribution rule configurations within the database.

🔹 Reporting & Data Management

  • Generate custom and ad-hoc reports using OBIEE, built-in tools, or SQL.

  • Develop and validate aggregate safety reports.

  • Lead data migration and validation projects, including creation of Design Specs, Migration Plans, and Summary Reports.

🔹 Collaboration & Support

  • Collaborate with PV business users to gather requirements and recommend solutions.

  • Address end-user queries and provide technical support.

  • Liaise with PV Safety database vendors for upgrades, enhancements, and issue resolution.

🔹 Compliance & Documentation

  • Support routine dictionary upgrades and ensure audit readiness.

  • Assist with SOP development and internal/external audits.

  • Ensure compliance with Thermo Fisher policies, GxP standards, and industry regulations.

🔹 Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Lead project initiatives, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.

  • Mentor junior staff, providing technical guidance and support.

  • Contribute to process improvements and best practice recommendations.

  • Estimate efforts for bidding activities or cost projections.


🎓 Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.

  • 5+ years of experience in PV systems administration, Argus database management, or clinical data programming.


🧠 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • System Administration: Hands-on experience in Oracle Argus configuration and database structure.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Strong SQL programming skills

    • Knowledge of relational database structures

    • Proficiency in reporting tools (OBIEE, Argus BI, etc.)

  • Safety Data Management: Proven experience with data migrations and safety reporting.

  • Analytical Mindset: Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Leadership: Ability to mentor, lead projects, and manage timelines effectively.

  • Adaptability: Comfortable handling multiple priorities and changing requirements.

  • Collaboration: Works effectively within cross-functional teams.
