Position Overview

The Part-Time Pharmacist at Cencora’s MWI Mail Order Pharmacy in Lebanon, Indiana, is responsible for interpreting veterinarian prescriptions, dispensing medications, and consulting with clients regarding medication use and potential interactions. This compliance-critical role ensures strict adherence to all corporate, divisional, and regulatory requirements. Prior pharmacy experience is preferred, but prior animal health experience is not required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Verify and obtain valid prescription information from licensed veterinarians or authorized agents.

  • Initiate and respond to medication order requests via calls and faxes.

  • Clarify prescription details to ensure accurate dispensing.

  • Dispense medications according to veterinarian prescriptions and current pharmacy standards.

  • Label medications correctly and ensure safe and timely delivery to end-users.

  • Answer medication-related inquiries from healthcare providers and clients.

  • Maintain accurate records of all prescriptions dispensed.

  • Prepare required reports, including daily dispensing logs and monthly usage summaries.

  • Ensure proper storage and handling of medications in compliance with pharmacy standards.

  • Provide exceptional customer service and back-up support for other pharmacy operations.

  • Perform related duties as assigned.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Licensure: Active pharmacist licensure in Indiana.

  • Experience: Previous pharmacy experience preferred; animal health experience not required.

  • Skills:

    • Effective oral and written communication skills.

    • Ability to work efficiently under time and volume constraints.

    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

    • Problem-solving skills to address client and pharmacy issues creatively.

    • Knowledge of pharmaceutical products, drug interactions, and services.

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
