Overview

Domnic Lewis has been mandated to hire a Regional Medical Advisor (RMA) for Kolkata.
The Field-Based Scientific Expert (FSE) plays a key role in implementing the Medical Affairs Plan for pre-launch and post-launch products or indications.
This role focuses on scientific engagement, evidence generation, and collaboration with healthcare professionals and other key stakeholders to shape clinical practice, support product value, and improve patient outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

1. Scientific Engagement & Strategy

  • Execute medical plans within the assigned therapeutic area and geographic territory.

  • Maintain in-depth scientific and clinical expertise in disease management, treatment landscape, and competitive intelligence.

  • Contribute to the design and execution of the Field Medical Strategic Plan (FMSP).

  • Act as a scientific subject matter expert (SME) for both internal and external stakeholders.

2. Scientific Exchange

  • Conduct unbiased, evidence-based scientific discussions with healthcare professionals and Key External Experts (KEEs).

  • Respond to unsolicited medical information requests with scientifically accurate data.

  • Deliver scientific presentations and participate in educational meetings, symposia, and advisory boards.

  • Support investigator-initiated studies and local research projects by collaborating with investigators and internal teams.

3. Customer Insight & Intelligence

  • Gather and analyze field-based insights to inform medical strategies and product positioning.

  • Identify gaps in patient care and propose scientifically driven solutions.

  • Monitor emerging medical trends and share relevant updates with cross-functional partners.

4. Strategic Relationships & Collaboration

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with KOLs, healthcare professionals, and other key stakeholders.

  • Identify potential investigators for clinical, pre-clinical, or post-marketing studies.

  • Engage with government agencies, payer organizations, and advocacy groups to support medical and access initiatives.

5. Digital & Innovation Focus

  • Use digital platforms to enhance scientific communication and engagement effectiveness.

  • Apply innovative approaches for data dissemination and stakeholder interaction.

  • Contribute to the organization’s digital transformation in medical affairs.

6. Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), pharmacovigilance, and ethical standards.

  • Adhere to company SOPs, global field medical standards, and local regulatory guidelines.

  • Support a culture of integrity and compliant scientific engagement.


Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Master’s degree in a scientific or healthcare discipline (e.g., M.Sc., M.Pharm, M.B.B.S.).

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to adapt to diverse audiences.

  • Excellent project management and interpersonal skills.

  • Analytical mindset with a focus on scientific excellence and patient outcomes.

Desirable

  • Doctoral degree (M.D., Ph.D., Pharm.D.) or equivalent qualification.

  • Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, clinical research, or regulatory settings.

  • Knowledge of therapeutic area-specific diseases and emerging treatment paradigms.

  • Experience engaging with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals.
