Role Overview

The Regional Medical & Scientific Affairs Manager is responsible for leading and executing medical and scientific initiatives in the assigned region. This role bridges the gap between the medical community and the company, ensuring dissemination of unbiased scientific information, supporting healthcare professionals (HCPs), and facilitating collaborative relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs). The position requires a combination of strong scientific knowledge, interpersonal skills, and strategic leadership to drive regional medical affairs objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Scientific Leadership & Field Engagement: Travel to assigned regions to oversee all scientific activities. Actively participate in scientific programs, delivering lectures and presentations to HCPs, promoting clinical and scientific communication.

  • Digital & Field Platforms: Own head office-driven HCP e-engagement platforms and conduct fieldwork with regional sales teams through face-to-face or virtual meetings.

  • KOL Management: Identify, segment, and develop KOLs across therapeutic areas based on specialty, experience, and academic interest. Establish long-term collaborative relationships and advocacy initiatives.

  • Medical Information Services (MIS): Provide accurate medical information to sales teams and HCPs regarding latest research, standard of care, and therapeutic advancements. Support timely resolution of medical queries.

  • Training & Knowledge Sharing: Continuously update the medical and product knowledge of field teams. Coordinate training of new recruits in collaboration with the training department.

  • Competitive Intelligence & Scientific Support: Communicate regional competitive and scientific intelligence to Medical Affairs leadership. Provide objection handling and scientific support to marketing and sales teams.

  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure all medical and promotional activities are conducted in compliance with company policies, internal guidelines, country regulations, and local industry codes of promotional practices.

  • Adaptability: Take on additional responsibilities as defined by the division head and adapt to changing business and medical priorities.


Required Qualifications

  • Educational Qualification: MD or MBBS in a relevant medical or life sciences field.

  • Experience: 3–5 years in a regional medical affairs, medico-marketing, or scientific affairs role within the pharmaceutical or nutrition industry.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently, lead teams, and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Proven problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking capabilities.
