🧭 Position Overview

The Clinical Biomarker Lead drives the development and execution of translational strategies in solid tumor oncology. This role integrates translational research with clinical development to implement biomarker strategies that support asset development, regulatory submissions, and decision-making. The position involves cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external collaborators, including KOLs and academic partners.


⚙️ Key Responsibilities

Translational & Biomarker Strategy

  • Develop and implement biomarker strategies aligned with clinical development objectives.

  • Lead efforts in data generation, interpretation, and communication to development teams.

  • Deliver high-quality biomarker strategies for mechanism of action, target engagement, pharmacodynamics, and patient selection.

  • Ensure biomarker plans meet established project standards.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Engage with internal and external functional groups to coordinate execution of translational deliverables.

  • Align biomarker strategies with clinical operational plans and functional capabilities.

  • Build and maintain productive relationships across the translational clinical biomarker group and with cross-functional teams.

  • Communicate program information, risks, and milestones to team members.

Scientific Leadership

  • Integrate translational research with clinical development.

  • Analyze progress, problem-solve, and drive key decisions.

  • Contribute to regulatory submissions, publications, and reports on translational data.

  • Engage with external academic collaborators and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).


🎓 Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Ph.D. in Oncology, Immunology, or related field.

Experience

  • 5–8+ years in industry.

  • 3–5 years in oncology, biomarkers, translational, or correlative research.

  • Proven experience in global project leadership and matrixed team collaboration.

  • Strong publication record in translational science or oncology.

Technical & Professional Skills

  • In-depth understanding of solid tumor oncology and translational development.

  • Experience in clinical protocol authoring and regulatory document review.

  • Working knowledge of biomarker technologies: genomics, gene expression, immune profiling, flow cytometry.

  • Data analysis and problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication; ability to translate complex scientific concepts into simple, actionable messages.

  • Knowledge of early- and late-stage drug development and translational strategy implementation.

Preferred Knowledge

  • Immuno-oncology, immuno-angiogenic therapies, and tumor-immunology disease biology.
