💼 Position Overview

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL), also referred to as Scientific Advisor, plays a crucial role in bridging scientific knowledge and practical medical application.
This role combines scientific expertise, communication skills, and strategic planning to engage with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals (HCPs), primarily in the Rare Blood Disorders area, focusing on Hemophilia.


🎯 Key Responsibilities

🔹 Scientific Engagement

  • Plan and execute field activities to disseminate scientific information on rare blood diseases (especially Hemophilia).

  • Provide HCPs with up-to-date clinical study data, treatment guidelines, and diagnostic insights.

  • Conduct and organize scientific meetings, lectures, and discussions with HCPs.

  • Support diagnostic and patient management discussions with clinicians.

  • Collaborate with Sanofi’s diagnostic coordinators to resolve paperwork and supply chain issues.

🔹 Insight Gathering & Collaboration

  • Collect insights from HCPs about treatment trends and unmet medical needs.

  • Provide scientific feedback to internal teams and support brand team alignment on strategy.

  • Participate in speaker training when required.

🔹 Compliance & Ethics

  • Maintain compliance with Sanofi policies, ethics, integrity codes, and industry regulations.

  • Ensure all scientific discussions are non-promotional and comply with local legal frameworks.

🔹 Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Medical Affairs, Commercial Operations, and Medical Information teams.

  • Contribute to evidence generation activities, such as data acquisition or investigator-led studies.


🌍 Role Context

  • Reports To: Rare Blood Disorder Medical Advisor

  • Travel Requirement: 10–12 days/month (within India)

  • Challenge Areas:

    • Mediating differing KOL and corporate perspectives

    • Maintaining regulatory boundaries between medical and commercial functions


📊 Scope of Role

  • Develop and execute a territory strategy aligned with medical objectives.

  • Plan interactions with stakeholders (KOLs, payers, patients, HCPs).

  • Use approved scientific data to enhance understanding of the therapeutic area.

  • Guide and align cross-functional teams toward unified medical goals.


🎓 Qualifications

  • Education:

    • Advanced degree in a scientific/medical field (e.g., MBBS, MD preferred)

  • Experience:

    • 2–4 years in pharmaceutical industry as an MSL or Scientific Advisor

    • Experience in Hematology/Hemophilia strongly preferred

    • Prior interaction with KOLs in Hematology desirable

  • Knowledge:

    • Coagulopathies and bleeding disorders

    • Clinical research and scientific communication

  • Language:

    • Advanced English proficiency
