🎯 Role Overview

The Medical Manager – Rare Blood Disorder will execute medical and scientific strategies for the Rare Blood Disorder therapeutic area across SE Asia & India.
This role demands strong scientific knowledge, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement to support the successful implementation of medical affairs activities.

The SE Asia & India / Pharma Medical Team comprises medical leaders committed to scientific excellence, stakeholder collaboration, and public health advancement through evidence-based medicine.


🧭 Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute medical/scientific strategies for Rare Blood Disorder products.

  • Be a strategic, operationally savvy, and solution-oriented contributor aligned with franchise goals.

  • Guide and support Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) and other medical team members.

2. External Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and professional societies.

  • Conduct scientific exchanges and provide balanced, evidence-based information on products and disease states.

  • Lead advisory boards, scientific meetings, and stakeholder collaborations.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards in all engagements.

3. Scientific & Medical Insights

  • Stay current on scientific advancements and competitive intelligence.

  • Identify research opportunities and support evidence generation initiatives.

  • Gather and communicate insights to enhance brand and therapeutic strategies.

4. Data Generation & Evidence Planning

  • Lead integrated evidence generation and data gap analysis.

  • Coordinate study proposals and manage Investigator-Sponsored Studies (ISS).

  • Support Managed Access Programs (MAP) and clinical collaborations.

5. Medical Operations & Compliance

  • Review and approve promotional/non-promotional materials.

  • Ensure compliance with global policies and ethical standards.

  • Manage franchise medical budgets and optimize resource utilization.


💡 People Leadership

  • Coach and mentor team members to drive collaboration and excellence.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Market Access, Regulatory, and Clinical Operations teams.


🚀 Job Context & Challenges

  • National and occasional international travel (~10 days/month).

  • Balance between KOL expectations and corporate compliance.

  • Maintain high ethical standards in all scientific and non-promotional activities.

  • Execute territory-level medical strategies aligned with company goals.

  • Plan stakeholder interactions and congress participation under the Scientific Engagement Model.

  • Use approved scientific data to strengthen disease awareness and treatment understanding.


🎓 Qualifications

  • Education: Doctoral degree (M.D. Pharmacology / MBBS).

  • Experience: 4–5 years in the pharmaceutical or related clinical research field.

  • Preferred Expertise: Hematology / Hemophilia.
