🧭 Position Overview

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) develops and maintains relationships with the medical and scientific community, including physicians and medical centers. The MSL communicates therapy area-related scientific information, supports clinical trial site activities, and facilitates investigator engagement in a strictly scientific, non-promotional manner, fully compliant with all laws, regulations, and codes of conduct.


⚙️ Key Responsibilities

Field-Based Medical Support

  • Provide scientific and medical support to clinical research programs.

  • Deliver credible presentations on disease areas and company pipeline to investigators.

  • Engage with clinical trial site investigators to identify and address enrollment or screening barriers.

  • Support clinical development and operations teams through site recommendations, initiation visits, and communication facilitation.

  • Exchange scientific information accurately, fairly, and in a balanced manner.

  • Report field intelligence, including competitive information and treatment landscape insights.

Clinical Trial & Site Support

  • Partner with site management and monitoring staff to initiate, oversee, and follow up on clinical studies.

  • Provide knowledge and training on disease, treatment, mechanism of action, and investigational molecules.

  • Support advisory board preparation and execution.

  • Consult with healthcare professionals to refer patients to clinical trial sites and review clinical practice topics.

  • Act as a point of contact for investigator-initiated study (IST) ideas.

  • Participate in site selection and investigator identification processes.

Scientific & Strategic Engagement

  • Facilitate medical and scientific field intelligence and maintain investigator databases.

  • Monitor competitor research and generate insights from investigators on challenges and opportunities.

  • Attend scientific meetings, conferences, and represent the company in scientific booths.

  • Assist physicians with access to medicines on a named patient or compassionate use basis.

  • Identify and categorize key opinion leaders (KOLs) in the therapy area.

  • Coach and develop scientific speakers in collaboration with professional and advocacy organizations.

  • Serve as a scientific resource for marketing, medical, and clinical teams.

  • Manage territory, projects, and CRM data input efficiently.

Compliance & Professional Conduct

  • Ensure all activities adhere to local, national, and global laws, regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, and company policies.

  • Complete all mandatory e-learning courses within the defined time frame.

  • Act as a company ambassador at all times.


🎓 Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare environment, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Strong scientific knowledge and understanding of clinical research processes.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.

💰 Compensation

  • Base Pay Range: $200,000 – $265,000 annually

  • Additional incentives, bonuses, and benefits may apply
