Role Overview
The Manager, Clinical Data Innovation will play a pivotal role in advancing data-driven decision-making, accelerating drug development, and strengthening regulatory compliance across the clinical trial lifecycle. This strategic position focuses on building and managing scalable clinical data ecosystems, with IDMP-compliant Master Data Management (MDM) as the foundation.
The role oversees the integration, governance, and quality of clinical and product data across multiple systems and trial phases, ensuring data accuracy, interoperability, and regulatory readiness. Acting as system owner for assigned platforms, the role includes decision-making authority on system enhancements, budgeting, and vendor partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain clinical data architecture strategies covering data collection, management, transfer, and regulatory submission.
Lead innovation initiatives for Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Quality (DQ) frameworks, including tools such as Reltio.
Define and implement data strategies to ensure data accuracy, integrity, security, and regulatory compliance.
Serve as system owner for assigned platforms, driving roadmap decisions, change management, and budget planning.
Collaborate with DigitalX teams, data owners, and stakeholders to ensure seamless system integrations and controlled data flow.
Support scalable architectures for managing product and clinical master data, including automation and scheduled jobs.
Oversee development and maintenance of APIs, middleware, and interfaces for cross-system data exchange.
Lead or contribute to system upgrades, migrations, and new platform implementations.
Manage vendor relationships, including licensing, issue resolution, and contract negotiations.
Participate in Agile delivery models, including backlog grooming and sprint planning using Azure DevOps.
Implement and monitor Data Quality business rules, DQ analysis, remediation, and defect resolution.
Track and resolve data defects in collaboration with development and data lake teams.
Stay current with industry standards such as IDMP, recommending innovative tools and best practices.
Enable proactive use of product and clinical data to support innovation and regulatory readiness.
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in Master Data Management and Data Quality frameworks within the healthcare or life sciences industry.
Strong understanding of clinical data systems, environments, and interoperability models.
Hands-on expertise with Reltio including entity configuration, matching rules, survivorship, relationships, hierarchies, and UI customization.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.
5+ years of experience in the Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical industry.
Experience with clinical and product data platforms such as Reltio, Databricks, or similar tools.
Proficiency in SQL, ETL/ELT processes, and data quality platforms (Talend, Informatica Data Quality, Databricks).
Strong understanding of data governance, stewardship, and security best practices.
Experience managing system design, integrations, upgrades, and migrations.
Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities with strong stakeholder communication skills.
