🎯 About the Job:

The Manager, Biologics Continuous Improvement plays a leadership role in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues related to manufacturing process equipment and automated control systems. The role focuses on driving continuous improvement projects for safety, compliance, delivery, and efficiency impacting bulk biologic vaccine production.

This position involves collaboration across departments—Operations, Quality, Automation, Engineering, and Maintenance—to ensure smooth and compliant manufacturing performance.


⚙️ Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead Continuous Improvement projects related to manufacturing process equipment and automated systems.

  • Develop and execute change controls, commissioning, and qualification documentation.

  • Collaborate with Automation, Engineering, and Maintenance to support internal and external projects.

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on automated control systems (e.g., Wonderware, DeltaV) and industry trends.

  • Participate in L1 + QDCI meetings to report issues and identify improvement opportunities.

  • Promote and implement safe work practices and maintain compliance with cGMP standards.

  • Troubleshoot process and automation issues impacting manufacturing performance.

  • Lead small to medium-scale process improvement initiatives.

  • Managing complex projects that require integration of equipment, automation, and operations.

  • Leading cross-functional teams to identify and resolve process and automation challenges.

  • Staying current with biopharma automation technologies and maintaining compliance with GMP and industry standards.


🎓 Education & Experience Requirements:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Chemical/Mechanical) or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in biotech or pharmaceutical manufacturing, engineering, or automation.

  • Strong understanding of cGMP and Continuous Improvement methodologies.

  • Proven leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred:

  • Certifications in AVEVA Wonderware, DeltaV, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma.

  • Experience with PLC programming, HMI development, and automated control systems.
