The Head of U.S. Reimbursement & Public Policy is responsible for developing and executing Sanofi’s national reimbursement and public policy agenda across federal and state levels.
This leadership role manages a team that shapes and drives Sanofi’s advocacy strategy, ensuring patients maintain access to innovative therapies and the U.S. market environment remains sustainable for innovation.

The role combines policy strategy, advocacy, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration—acting as both an internal advisor and external ambassador for Sanofi’s policy initiatives.


⚙️ Main Responsibilities:

🧭 Policy Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and lead Sanofi’s U.S. reimbursement and policy strategy, aligning it with evolving business and legislative landscapes.

  • Anticipate and interpret federal and state policy trends to identify risks and opportunities.

  • Develop creative, pragmatic policy solutions that support patient access and innovation.

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing policy team, promoting collaboration and professional growth.

🤝 External Engagement & Advocacy

  • Represent Sanofi before U.S. agencies such as CMS and HHS on reimbursement, access, and coding issues.

  • Shape and deliver Sanofi’s policy positions through trade associations, coalitions, and industry forums.

  • Oversee the development of comment letters, regulatory submissions, and testimonies.

🧩 Internal Advisory & Business Partnership

  • Provide actionable policy intelligence and briefings to senior management.

  • Partner with Market Access, Legal, Finance, R&D, and Medical Affairs teams to integrate policy insights into strategy and decision-making.

  • Develop agile response mechanisms to quickly assess policy changes and their business impact.

🌐 Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Support Government Affairs teams in advocacy efforts, including legislative meetings and stakeholder engagement.

  • Collaborate with global policy teams to align U.S. perspectives with global strategy.

💼 Operational & Budget Management

  • Oversee budget planning, resourcing, and operational execution for U.S. reimbursement and policy initiatives.

  • Ensure strategic priorities are delivered efficiently and on time.


🎓 Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Policy, Public Health, Business, Law, or related field.

  • 12–15 years of progressive experience in U.S. healthcare policy, reimbursement, or market access (biopharma, consulting, or government).

  • Strong expertise in federal and state reimbursement policy and CMS processes.

  • Proven leadership and team management skills within large, matrixed organizations.

  • Excellent strategic, analytical, and communication capabilities.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MPH, MPP, or JD) desirable.

  • Experience engaging with trade associations, policymakers, and regulators.

  • Track record of influencing policy development in the biopharma industry.
