Associate Expert Science & Technology (Analytical Scientist - OSD) – Novartis, Hyderabad

Job Summary:

Novartis is looking for an Associate Expert in Science & Technology (Analytical Scientist - OSD) to support drug substance (DS) and drug product (DP) research for oral solid dosage forms. This full-time position is based in Hyderabad and is ideal for professionals with a background in analytical chemistry or pharmaceutical sciences, and knowledge of GMP/GLP principles. You will execute scientific experiments, document outcomes, and contribute to laboratory operations within a regulated environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and document analytical experiments such as method development, validation, and release testing

  • Ensure timely and accurate data submission in systems like LIMS

  • Adhere to Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)

  • Support investigations for deviations, OOX, change controls, and stability issues

  • Maintain lab readiness, manage consumables, reagents, and equipment

  • Implement lean and sustainable practices in the laboratory environment

  • Communicate scientific observations and critical updates proactively

  • Contribute to meeting Key Quality and Performance Indicators (KQIs & KPIs)

  • Support internal and external audits to ensure compliance

  • Actively participate in team goals and Novartis training programs (e.g., Up4Growth)


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Pharmacy, or Life Sciences

  • Solid understanding of GMP, GLP, and quality assurance in pharmaceutical development

  • Ability to document and interpret experimental results

  • Exposure to analytical techniques relevant to oral solid dosage (OSD) formulations

  • Good scientific writing and verbal communication skills

  • Familiarity with regulatory expectations and lab systems (e.g., LIMS)
