Job Overview:

The (Senior) Scientific Advisor serves as a scientific and strategic partner to clients, responsible for developing high-quality, accurate, and engaging medical content that aligns with brand and communication objectives.
This role blends scientific acumen, client management, and project leadership, supporting medical communication initiatives across multiple therapeutic areas.


Core Responsibilities:

1. Project Management

  • Lead and manage complex, high-visibility projects across multiple client accounts.

  • Oversee strategic content development, ensuring scientific accuracy and alignment with brand goals.

  • Coordinate digital and interactive deliverables and validate scientific content.

  • Develop creative concepts and deliver client presentations with clear, evidence-backed storytelling.

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, SOP adherence, and quality assurance.

  • Track progress using project management tools (e.g., Basecamp).

  • Organize and lead internal meetings, ensuring smooth team coordination and client satisfaction.

  • Maintain deep understanding of assigned disease areas, products, and competitor landscape.


2. Scientific Content Development

  • Author, review, and oversee scientific and medical content, including publications, slide decks, and educational materials.

  • Develop data visualization and digital content strategies for effective communication.

  • Ensure regulatory and compliance standards are met in all materials.

  • Monitor and analyze therapeutic area trends to maintain competitive differentiation.

  • Conduct literature reviews and critically assess clinical and regulatory documents.

  • Lead content strategy for Summit Global Health initiatives with clients.


3. Client Relations & Account Management

  • Serve as primary scientific liaison and relationship owner for client accounts.

  • Set clear expectations regarding deliverables, scope, and timelines.

  • Conduct regular client meetings, providing strategic updates and actionable summaries.

  • Translate client feedback into practical, high-impact deliverables.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams — including Scientific Services, Marketing, and Interactive — to ensure cohesive execution.

  • Support new business development through brainstorming, proposal creation, and pitch presentations.


4. Brand & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key client stakeholders, KOLs, and internal teams.

  • Ensure consistent representation of the Summit Global Health brand across all communications and deliverables.

  • Uphold service quality standards that support client retention and satisfaction.

  • Promote a solutions-oriented approach to project execution, maintaining professionalism and precision.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • PhD (preferred) or PharmD in a relevant scientific field.

Experience:

  • Scientific Advisor: 3–5 years in a medical communications agency.

  • Senior Scientific Advisor: 5–8 years in a medical communications agency.

  • Experience in medical content creation, client engagement, and therapeutic communication strategy.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of medical and scientific literature and data interpretation.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills.

  • Expertise in data analysis and visualization.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously.

  • Strategic thinking with solutions-oriented mindset.

  • Team-oriented with high accountability and initiative.

  • Willingness to travel for conferences, advisory boards, or client meetings.


Compensation:

💰 Base Pay Range: $95,100 – $237,700 (annualized)
(Actual compensation based on qualifications, experience, and location.)
