Job Overview

Exelixis is seeking a highly experienced Senior Oncology Account Manager to lead strategic commercial execution across the San Antonio territory. This role is ideal for an accomplished oncology sales professional with a strong track record of driving performance, building long-term stakeholder relationships, and independently managing complex oncology accounts.

As a senior field leader, you will act as a trusted partner to healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders, supporting the appropriate use of Exelixis oncology therapies while upholding the highest standards of compliance, ethics, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute advanced territory and account strategies across a complex or multi-state oncology landscape to deliver sustained revenue growth.

  • Build, deepen, and maintain high-value relationships with oncologists, healthcare providers, integrated delivery networks, and institutional decision-makers.

  • Provide accurate, compliant scientific and clinical education on Exelixis oncology products to ensure appropriate utilization.

  • Apply advanced analytics and market intelligence to optimize territory planning, prioritization, and execution.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, access, reimbursement, and medical teams to address clinical, operational, and access challenges.

  • Represent field insights during brand planning discussions and contribute to tactical and strategic innovation initiatives.

  • Identify emerging market trends, competitive dynamics, and unmet clinical needs within the territory.

  • Lead pull-through initiatives in partnership with payer and access teams to improve patient access and continuity of care.

  • Serve as a field ambassador for product launches, pilot programs, and strategic initiatives.

  • Mentor and support less experienced team members by sharing best practices and fostering professional development.

  • Demonstrate consistent adherence to regulatory, compliance, and ethical engagement standards.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of oncology sales experience, with demonstrated success managing complex accounts.

  • Proven product launch experience within oncology is required.

  • Prior experience in senior-level or strategic oncology account management roles is strongly preferred.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in a relevant discipline with 9+ years of related professional experience, or

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with 7+ years of related professional experience, or

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment & Travel

  • Field-based role with up to 50% travel within the assigned territory.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: USD 181,500 – 232,000 annually (location-adjusted)
