Senior Clinical Research Associate (CRA)

Location: South San Francisco, CA (Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Employment Type: Contract
Salary: $110K - $130K per year

Job Description:

A South San Francisco-based pharmaceutical company is seeking a Senior CRA to join their growing clinical team. This hybrid role requires onsite presence three days per week with less than 30% travel.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Senior Clinical Trial Manager (Sr CTM) in managing clinical studies from start-up to closeout.
Participate in protocol development and amendments.
Oversee study management and vendors (e.g., IRT, eCOA, cardiac safety, patient reimbursement).
Manage clinical sites, act as a point of escalation, and oversee CRO monitoring activities.
Collaborate with Clinical Trial Assistants (CTAs) to ensure accurate documentation of meeting agendas and minutes.
Support the review and implementation of study design from an operational perspective.
Participate in CRO/vendor RFPs and bid defenses.
Assist in developing study timelines, budgets, and critical study documents (e.g., informed consent forms, site management tools).
Contribute to the case report form (CRF) design process, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and edit check review.
Support study-wide activities such as vendor coordination, investigator payments, and data quality assurance.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
Minimum 4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
Global clinical trial experience preferred.
