Senior Clinical Research Associate (CRA)

Job Description:

A South San Francisco-based pharmaceutical company is seeking a Senior CRA to join their growing clinical team. This hybrid role requires onsite presence three days per week with less than 30% travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Senior Clinical Trial Manager (Sr CTM) in managing clinical studies from start-up to closeout.
  • Participate in protocol development and amendments.
  • Oversee study management and vendors (e.g., IRT, eCOA, cardiac safety, patient reimbursement).
  • Manage clinical sites, act as a point of escalation, and oversee CRO monitoring activities.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Trial Assistants (CTAs) to ensure accurate documentation of meeting agendas and minutes.
  • Support the review and implementation of study design from an operational perspective.
  • Participate in CRO/vendor RFPs and bid defenses.
  • Assist in developing study timelines, budgets, and critical study documents (e.g., informed consent forms, site management tools).
  • Contribute to the case report form (CRF) design process, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and edit check review.
  • Support study-wide activities such as vendor coordination, investigator payments, and data quality assurance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Global clinical trial experience preferred.
