Scientific Writer – Pharmaceuticals & Medical Communications

About the Role
Sanofi is seeking a Scientific Writer to join its Business Operations (SBO) team in Hyderabad. This role focuses on developing high-quality scientific and medical communications content to support global and local publications, medical education initiatives, and therapeutic area knowledge dissemination. The successful candidate will contribute to scientific writing projects with limited supervision, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with strategic objectives.
This position offers an opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, enhance therapeutic area expertise, and impact evidence-based communication within the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Communication
Develop specialized publication and medical education content including slide decks, abstracts, posters, and manuscripts.
Support end-to-end publication processes, including documentation, review, and approval in PromoMats/iEnvision (formerly Datavision/MATRIX).
Maintain and expand therapeutic area expertise to inform high-quality content development.
Assist in the adaptation of global content for local implementation as required.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Work closely with scientific communication teams, Product Managers, Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs), and medical departments to identify publication needs and deliver tailored content.
Foster effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure content meets strategic and scientific standards.
Support knowledge sharing and mentoring among peers and junior writers.
Performance & Process Excellence
Deliver content on time and maintain high standards of quality and scientific accuracy.
Assist in publication-needs analysis and implement elements of annual publication plans.
Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure seamless execution of deliverables.
Incorporate feedback from stakeholders to continuously improve content quality and delivery.
Experience & Skills Required
Minimum 2 years of experience in scientific/medical writing within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or academic sectors.
Proven experience in therapeutic area content creation and publication submission processes.
Strong stakeholder management, communication skills, and ability to work independently or within cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with project management principles and medical communication best practices.
Education
Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, or a related scientific discipline.
Language Requirements
Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.
