About the Role

We are seeking a Manager, Scientific Communications to join the Global Medical Organization as a core member of the Scientific Communications team. This role is responsible for the development and execution of high-quality scientific, publication, and medical content aligned with designated Therapeutic Areas, including General Medicine, Inflammation, Oncology, Rare Diseases, and Obesity.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Scientific Communications (Group Lead) in India, the role works cross-functionally with US and global medical teams to support medical strategy execution through impactful, compliant, and audience-specific scientific communications.

This position plays a critical role in delivering medical affairs content, publications strategy, and medical information support, while contributing to process optimization, innovation, and digital transformation initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver accurate, compliant, and innovative scientific and medical content, including:

    • Digital Scientific Exchange (DSE) materials

    • MSL field materials

    • FAQs and Medical Information Letters

  • Author and manage global scientific publications, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, oral presentations, and enhanced digital content for journals and congresses.

  • Address complex medical information inquiries and escalations in collaboration with global medical teams.

  • Create scientific content to support payer engagement and compendia submissions.

  • Manage content workflows, reviews, and approvals through approved systems and governance processes.

  • Partner closely with Scientific Communications Operations to drive standardization, innovation, KPI tracking, and continuous process improvement.

  • Execute deliverables aligned with a comprehensive global scientific communications plan.

  • Ensure full compliance with internal SOPs, external regulatory requirements, and publication ethics guidelines.

  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships across Medical Affairs, Publications, Regulatory, and Commercial teams.


Education & Experience Requirements

Candidates must meet one of the following experience pathways:

  • Doctorate degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, DO) with 7+ years of relevant experience
    OR

  • Master’s degree or MBBS with 10+ years of experience in:

    • Global Publications

    • Medical Communications

    • Medical Information

    • Medical Strategy or Medical Value & Access
      OR

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience
    OR

  • Associate degree with 15+ years of relevant experience


Required Functional Expertise

  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in medical and publications content development.

  • Prior experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, or biopharmaceutical research, preferably within the relevant therapeutic area.

  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical commercialization lifecycle and applicable regulatory and legal frameworks governing scientific exchange.

  • Proven experience applying publication standards and transparency guidelines, including ICMJE and GPP.

  • Ability to critically analyze clinical data and scientific literature and translate insights into high-impact medical content.

  • Demonstrated success working in global, matrixed environments with limited supervision.


Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with emerging technologies in scientific communications, including AI-enabled tools, omnichannel strategies, and digital engagement platforms.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and scientific content management systems.
