Job Overview

The Scientific Specialist – Medical Information is responsible for delivering high-quality, accurate, and compliant scientific content to support global medical information activities. This role involves literature evaluation, development of scientific response documents, and handling escalated medical inquiries from healthcare professionals, patients, and internal stakeholders.

This position is ideal for experienced medical writers with a strong scientific background who thrive in a remote, collaborative, and fast-paced medical communications environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive literature searches using PubMed and other subscribed scientific databases; critically evaluate and validate relevant data.

  • Develop, update, and maintain Global Standard Scientific Response Content (gSSRCs) and FAQs in alignment with approved templates and style guides.

  • Respond to escalated medical information queries from internal teams, healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers in a scientifically accurate and compliant manner.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and consistent information delivery.

  • Adhere to best practices in medical information processes, documentation, communication, and project management.

  • Participate in mandatory and role-specific training programs and contribute to assigned projects as required.

  • Ensure strict compliance with quality standards, timelines, confidentiality, and data security policies.


Qualifications & Experience Required

Educational Background:

  • Advanced scientific degree such as PharmD, MD, PhD, or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or related disciplines.

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of professional experience as a Medical Writer or Medical Information Specialist.

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience producing scientific and medical content.

  • Demonstrated experience working with digital platforms, IT systems, or content management tools in a medical communications environment.


Technical & Professional Skills

  • Strong expertise in medical and scientific writing, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and deliver results efficiently.

  • Experience in writing and managing scientific publications, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and related materials.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Strong organizational, coordination, and time-management capabilities.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional or remote teams.

  • High level of professionalism with a commitment to collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.


Therapeutic Area Experience (Preferred)

Prior experience in one or more of the following therapeutic areas is highly desirable:

  • Cardiovascular, Renal, and Metabolism (CRM)

  • Respiratory

  • Inflammation

  • Immunology

  • Oncology
