About the Role
Sanofi is seeking a Team Lead – Scientific Writing to oversee the creation of high-quality scientific content for General Medicines, Specialty Care, and other therapeutic areas. This leadership role combines strategic thinking, operational excellence, and people management to drive publication, medical education, and scientific communication initiatives.
As part of our team, you will guide a team of expert writers, ensure timely delivery of medical content, and support the use of advanced digital and AI-driven tools in scientific communications. Your work will help shape the global dissemination of clinical knowledge and improve patient outcomes worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership
Lead and mentor a team of expert and senior scientific writers.
Develop expertise within the team on content, methods, and processes.
Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to meet educational and communication needs.
Ensure adoption of new technologies to enhance content delivery and productivity.
Strategic Performance
Act as a strategic partner for therapeutic areas (TAs) within assigned Global Business Units (GBUs).
Provide guidance on publication and communication plans, medical education materials, and other scientific deliverables.
Monitor industry trends and maintain expertise in assigned therapeutic areas.
Support development of tools, processes, and technologies to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity.
Operational Excellence
Manage delivery of scientific documents, clinical reports, and medical communications with high technical standards.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
Oversee timely completion of publications and educational materials.
Contribute to continuous improvement of workflows, training methods, and scientific output.
Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with regional scientific communication teams to identify publication needs.
Maintain strong connections with the medical and scientific community.
Facilitate coordination across cross-functional teams to ensure effective delivery of medical content.
Required Experience and Skills
Experience: Minimum 9+ years in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or academic scientific content creation; at least 6 years in a leadership role.
Education: Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a Medical degree.
Technical Skills: Expertise in scientific and medical writing, publication planning, medical communications, project management, and therapeutic area knowledge.
Soft Skills: Strong stakeholder management, leadership, communication, and team collaboration abilities.
Language: Excellent written and spoken English.
