About the Role

Sanofi is seeking a Senior Medical Information Writer to join its Global Medical Information (GMI) team in Hyderabad. The role involves research, development, and maintenance of high-quality scientific response documents to support global and local medical information activities. The ideal candidate will combine deep therapeutic expertise with advanced medical writing, literature review, and content management skills to deliver accurate, evidence-based medical communications.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Writing & Content Development

  • Conduct comprehensive literature searches and critically analyze scientific data.

  • Author and maintain scientific response documents, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Adapt global medical information documents for country-specific requirements.

  • Develop responses to escalated medical inquiries and contribute to US NDA Annual Reports and compendia reviews.

  • Perform peer review of content to ensure high-quality medical writing standards.

  • Develop and maintain expertise in assigned therapeutic areas.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate effectively with global and local medical information teams to execute content plans.

  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including medical and pharmacovigilance teams, to align medical information deliverables with business needs.

  • Support and mentor other medical information writers to enhance team knowledge and expertise.

Process & Compliance

  • Act as a subject-matter expert on medical information writing, including regulatory requirements for supported countries.

  • Participate in content needs analysis and implement elements of annual content plans.

  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of assigned projects.

  • Continuously improve content quality and delivery based on end-user feedback.

Experience & Skills Required

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in medical writing within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, with 2–3 years of direct medical information experience.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

  • Expertise in medical operational excellence, literature evaluation, and multilevel response development.

  • Excellent editing and scientific writing skills with attention to accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Education

  • Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, or related discipline (Master’s, PharmD, Ph.D., or equivalent).

  • Medical degree or MBA with relevant scientific background is an added advantage.

Language Requirements

  • Exceptional proficiency in written and spoken English.
