Role Overview

The Scientific Specialist – Medical Information role is designed for experienced medical writers with strong scientific expertise who can deliver accurate, compliant, and timely medical information content. This position involves literature evaluation, medical writing, stakeholder collaboration, and response management for healthcare professional and patient inquiries.

You will play a key role in ensuring scientifically sound, evidence-based medical communication while adhering to global quality, confidentiality, and compliance standards.


Key Responsibilities

Medical Writing & Scientific Content

  • Conduct comprehensive literature searches using PubMed and other subscribed scientific databases.

  • Critically evaluate and validate relevant scientific literature for inclusion.

  • Develop, update, and maintain Global Standard Scientific Response Content (gSSRCs) and FAQs in alignment with approved templates and style guides.

  • Create accurate, clear, and compliant medical content to support medical information services.

Medical Information & Query Management

  • Respond to escalated medical information queries from internal teams and external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers.

  • Ensure responses are evidence-based, balanced, and aligned with approved references and compliance standards.

Collaboration & Compliance

  • Liaise effectively with cross-functional internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Follow best practices related to process adherence, documentation, communication, and project management.

  • Maintain strict adherence to quality standards, timelines, data confidentiality, and information security policies.

  • Participate in assigned training programs and support additional project-related assignments as required.


Education & Experience Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Scientific degree such as PharmD, MD, PhD, or Master’s in Life Sciences or related discipline.

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Medical Writer or Scientific Writer, with at least 3 years of hands-on writing experience.

  • Proven expertise in developing medical information and scientific content.

  • Working knowledge of IT systems and digital content solutions used in medical communications.


Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent medical and scientific writing skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Results-oriented mindset with strong execution capabilities.

  • Effective communication, coordination, and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across global and remote teams.

  • Fluency in spoken and written English with strong professional communication skills.

  • Experience in writing and managing scientific publications, including manuscripts, posters, and abstracts.


Therapeutic Area Expertise (Preferred)

Prior experience in one or more of the following therapeutic areas is considered an advantage:

  • Cardiovascular, Renal, and Metabolism (CRM)

  • Respiratory

  • Inflammation and Immunology
