Job Description – Regional Medical Affairs Manager

Designation: Regional Manager – Medical Affairs
Reporting to: Associate Director, SMA
Region: India – North and West
Location: North or West India


Minimum Qualification & Experience

  • MD / MBBS / MDS / BDS

  • 3–5 years of experience in regional / medico-marketing roles within a pharmaceutical or nutrition company

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Effective coordination and time-management abilities

  • Problem-solving mindset with ability to work in and lead teams towards objectives

  • Capable of presenting complex data in a clear and concise manner

  • Independent, detail-oriented, and adaptable to varied conditions

  • Skilled in preparing and delivering impactful scientific presentations (internal and external)


Key Responsibilities

Scientific & Medical Engagement

  • Act as the owner of all scientific activities in the assigned regions

  • Deliver lectures/presentations at scientific programs to communicate key scientific messages

  • Conduct and manage HCP e-engagement initiatives driven by head office

  • Facilitate unbiased exchange of scientific information between the company and the medical community

Field & HCP Interaction

  • Collaborate with regional sales teams for joint fieldwork (face-to-face and/or e-calls) with HCPs

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) through educational and scientific initiatives

  • Identify, segment, and develop KOLs based on specialty, experience, and academic interest

Medical Information & Training

  • Provide Medical Information Services (MIS) to support the sales force, including:

    • Updates on medical research and standard of care

    • Responding to physician queries

    • Competitive scientific insights

  • Train and continuously update the medical/product knowledge of field teams and new recruits (in collaboration with the training team)

Compliance & Reporting

  • Communicate competitive and scientific intelligence from the region to the medical affairs leadership

  • Ensure all medical and promotional activities comply with company policies, country regulations, and industry codes of conduct

  • Perform additional responsibilities as defined by the division head, aligned with business needs
