Job Overview

Sun Pharma is hiring an experienced Training Manager to support and execute comprehensive sales force training initiatives across Emerging Markets. This role is responsible for driving therapy, product, and selling skills training for Medical Representatives (MRs) and First Line Managers (FLMs) through virtual, in-person, and on-the-job learning interventions. The position requires strong instructional design capability, cross-functional collaboration, and extensive international travel.


Key Responsibilities

Sales Force Training & Capability Development

  • Design, plan, and deliver customized training programs in collaboration with the Training Lead for assigned emerging market regions.

  • Conduct induction, onboarding, and basic training programs for Sales Representatives and FLMs across key therapy areas.

  • Deliver selling skills, therapy knowledge, and product training through virtual classrooms, in-person workshops, and joint field work.

  • Drive capability development of sales teams to improve performance and business outcomes.

On-the-Job Training & Coaching

  • Conduct joint field work to assess skill gaps, map training needs, and measure training impact.

  • Lead Manager Development Programs to strengthen coaching capabilities and leadership behaviors of FLMs.

Training Content & Digital Learning

  • Develop high-quality training modules, presentations, and learning content on therapies, products, and soft skills.

  • Manage digital learning initiatives through the Learning Management System (LMS), including user management, content uploads, and data analytics.

  • Partner with internal medical and marketing teams and external vendors for digital content development.

Learning Analytics & Governance

  • Maintain accurate training records and databases for trained and untrained employees.

  • Ensure attendance tracking, learning adoption, and post-training follow-ups to maximize learning retention.

  • Analyze LMS data and training metrics to measure effectiveness and recommend improvements.

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, and Medical functions in Emerging Markets.

  • Manage external stakeholders including physicians, pharmacists, nurses, hospital managers, learning vendors, and service providers.


Educational Qualifications

  • Degree in Health Sciences with working knowledge of the commercial or marketing functions within the pharmaceutical industry.


Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years of total experience, including:

    • 5+ years in pharmaceutical sales training, and

    • 5+ years as a Medical Representative (MR) and/or First Line Manager (FLM) in a reputed pharmaceutical organization.

  • Proven experience in conducting sales training programs for MRs and FLMs.

  • Prior exposure to International or Emerging Markets is a strong advantage.


Required Competencies & Skills

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated success in pharmaceutical sales with a strong performance record.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

  • High level of digital and technological proficiency, including virtual training platforms and LMS tools.

  • Instructional design, facilitation, and coaching skills.

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple training projects simultaneously.

  • Learning agility and adaptability in multicultural environments.

  • Valid passport with willingness to travel internationally.

  • Strong team collaboration and stakeholder management capabilities.


Work Environment & Travel

  • Office-based role in Mumbai with frequent international travel for training delivery and field work.

  • Estimated travel requirement: 60–70%.
