Job Overview

athenahealth is seeking a Coaching and Training Services Instructional Technologist to join its Virtual Training and Design team in Bengaluru. This role focuses on executing high-quality digital learning assets that support product adoption, user engagement, and performance outcomes across athenahealth’s customer base.

The Instructional Technologist works closely with Instructional Designers to build engaging eLearning courses, demo videos, and simulations using modern instructional technologies. This position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.


Key Responsibilities

Instructional Development (Approximately 85%)

  • Execute eLearning course builds, simulations, and video demonstrations based on instructional design storyboards and training assets

  • Develop and update learning content using tools such as Articulate 360 and Camtasia within an agile development framework

  • Create interactive learning experiences aligned with defined design interactions and engagement standards

  • Produce release-specific demo videos following approved storyboards

  • Apply strong graphic design principles while adhering to athenahealth branding and design guidelines

  • Collaborate closely with Instructional Designers and project teams to ensure timely delivery and consistent communication on project status

Virtual Training and Design (Approximately 10%)

  • Provide consultative feedback on learning concepts, designs, and release materials

  • Research and recommend emerging learning technologies to enhance learner experience and outcomes

  • Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and functionality of training content

Coaching and Training Services (Approximately 5%)

  • Participate in departmental and cross-functional initiatives

  • Provide insights and feedback to improve the overall client learning journey


Education & Experience Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience developing training content across multiple delivery modalities (eLearning, video, simulations)

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in instructional technology, instructional design, graphic design, multimedia, or video production

  • Experience supporting digital learning initiatives in a technology, healthcare, or SaaS environment is advantageous


Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical proficiency with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia, and audio/video editing software

  • Ability to quickly learn, adapt, and apply new technologies and tools

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards for online learning content

  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to seek clarification to ensure accuracy and quality

  • Proven ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment

  • Effective communication skills to proactively identify risks, conflicts, or blockers
