Job Overview

Syngene is seeking a detail-oriented and compliance-driven Medical Technologist to join its Central Laboratory team in Bangalore. The role involves specimen collection, processing, testing, quality control, and adherence to regulatory and laboratory standards. The selected candidate will ensure high-quality laboratory operations aligned with ISO, CAP, NABL, and internal SOP requirements.

This opportunity is ideal for laboratory professionals with hands-on experience in hematology, biochemistry, immunoassay, serology, and flow cytometry within regulated environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform specimen collection, handling, processing, and analysis as per laboratory SOPs.

  • Conduct testing for hematology, biochemistry, immunoassay, serology, and flow cytometry.

  • Execute daily, weekly, and monthly equipment maintenance as per manufacturer recommendations.

  • Maintain and monitor reagent, calibrator, and consumable inventory levels.

  • Record quality control, calibration, and maintenance activities in compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Review and verify test reports (manual and electronic) while ensuring accurate documentation.

  • Identify deviations, initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and escalate issues when required.

  • Raise deviation or change control requests in TrackWise as applicable.

  • Prepare and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in EDMS.

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 15189:2022, CAP, NABL, and other applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain laboratory records, archives, and data integrity standards.

  • Adhere to Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies and laboratory safety procedures.

  • Support project management plans and proficiency testing requirements.


Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT) or a related field.


Technical & Functional Skills

  • Strong expertise in Hematology, Biochemistry, Immunoassay, Clinical Pathology, Serology, and Flow Cytometry.

  • Hands-on experience with ELISA and flow cytometry assays.

  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, GraphPad, Adobe, and related laboratory software tools.

  • Knowledge of ISO 15189:2022, CAP, and NABL accreditation standards.

  • Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and critical reasoning skills.

  • Excellent documentation and record-keeping capabilities.


Experience Required

  • 2 to 5 years of professional experience as a Medical Technologist in a clinical or research laboratory environment.

  • Prior exposure to regulated laboratory settings with compliance-driven processes is essential.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
