About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Therapy Business Manager – GI Optima to lead and drive sales performance in the Indore territory. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for implementing sales strategies, ensuring brand visibility, managing distributor networks, and achieving business objectives in line with company goals.

This role requires a results-driven leader with strong knowledge of gastrointestinal therapies, excellent customer management skills, and the ability to mentor and lead junior team members.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales Growth

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets by promoting products ethically and strategically

  • Conduct science-based discussions with doctors and chemists to drive product adoption in clinics and pharmacies

  • Organize medical education camps (CME) and promotional events aligned with division strategy

  • Execute merchandising and sampling activities as per business plan

  • Facilitate successful product launches by targeting the right healthcare professionals and gathering market feedback

  • Implement customer management plans, including:

    • 100% coverage of doctors in the assigned territory

    • Adherence to call frequency and engagement KPIs

    • Collection of market intelligence and monitoring retailer-level inventory

  • Conduct prescription audits for company and competitor brands

  • Maintain and update an organized customer database in physical and digital formats

  • Identify potential towns for business expansion and appoint distributors in alignment with company strategy

Brand Management

  • Ensure visibility of GI Optima brands at retail outlets and clinics

  • Execute trade and clinic activities for brand promotion

  • Plan and participate in retail meets, market blitzes, and other promotional initiatives

  • Generate Purchase Orders (POBs) and manage distributor performance

  • Evaluate distributor credentials and ensure timely settlement of stock claims

  • Maintain brand reputation and company standards within the assigned territory

Leadership & Compliance

  • Lead by example in adherence to Abbott Code of Business Conduct, FCPA, and Pharmacovigilance guidelines

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, statutory regulations, and company financial systems

  • Promote Abbott’s values of Pioneering, Achieving, Caring, and Enduring in all professional interactions

  • Manage challenging customer situations and ensure high-quality service

  • Participate in strategy meetings, workshops, doctor engagements, and training programs to enhance sales performance

  • Ensure compliance with EHS policies and promote safety during field activities


Candidate Profile

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or related field

  • Experience Required: 4–7 years in pharmaceutical sales, preferably with therapy management in GI or related segments

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing distributor networks

  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team management skills

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

  • Analytical and strategic thinker with customer-focused mindset
