About the Role

Fortrea, one of the world’s largest Clinical Research Organizations (CROs), operates four Early Phase Clinical Research Units in the UK and US. We are currently seeking PRN Research Nurses to join our Clinical Pharmacology Start-Up Team in Dallas, TX.

In this casual, first-shift role, you’ll support the safe and efficient initiation of early-phase clinical trials, collaborating with some of the most innovative pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies. This is an opportunity to witness and contribute to the development of next-generation therapies from the ground up.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Trial Operations

  • Provide high-standard care to clinical trial participants using nursing judgment and diagnosis.

  • Respond to medical emergencies based on professional nursing standards.

  • Observe participant well-being and monitor for adverse events.

  • Administer investigational drugs (including parenteral) per protocol and regulations.

Participant Engagement

  • Obtain and explain Informed Consent (ICF) procedures.

  • Educate and guide participants through study protocols and expectations.

Procedures & Data Collection

  • Perform study-related procedures such as:

    • Cannulation

    • Telemetry

    • Holter monitoring

    • Vital signs

    • ECGs

    • Venipuncture

  • Collect and process biological samples in line with study protocols and SOPs.

  • Accurately record and transcribe source data onto Case Report Forms (CRFs) in a timely, error-free manner.

Additional Duties

  • Participate in clinic operations across diverse therapeutic indications (e.g., ascending dose, first-in-human, drug-to-drug interaction, food effect studies).

  • Complete other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education & Licensure

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).

  • Active and valid nursing license (RN) in the state of Texas.

  • CPR/AED Certification (required).

  • ACLS Certification preferred upon entry (may be completed post-hire).

Experience

  • 2–3 years of nursing experience (clinical or research preferred).

  • Experience working in fast-paced, protocol-driven environments is ideal.
