Job Description:

Overview:

Join IQVIA Laboratories in Valencia, CA as a Pathologist to support daily lab operations, including pathology interpretation, slide analysis, and communication with sponsors and clinical sites. The role involves acting as Principal Investigator on clinical trials, ensuring quality and compliance with Good Clinical Practice (ICH E6).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and score Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and FISH slides

  • Establish new histopathology assays collaboratively

  • Provide pathologist expertise during discussions with clinical trial sponsors

  • Maintain professional qualifications and continuing education

  • Review routine histopathology slides daily to meet clinical trial turnaround times

  • Provide morphological diagnoses on H&E stained slides for oncology and surgical pathology samples per trial requirements

  • Evaluate laboratory information and report results in line with regulatory protocols

  • Maintain medical lab equipment by setting quality standards and developing troubleshooting procedures

  • Participate in internal and client-facing communications; collaborate with colleagues, clients, and vendors

  • Monitor study progress and report issues to senior staff


Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Medical degree or foreign equivalent at Licensed Physician level

  • Certification in anatomic pathology

  • 7–10 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

  • Preferred experience in reference labs, clinical research organizations, and/or clinical trials

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in routine histopathology, IHC, cytogenetics (in-situ hybridization), and related lab regulations

  • Knowledge of quality assurance/control principles and company-specific program requirements

  • Strong communication skills (written and oral)

  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients

  • Hematopathology expertise with Flow Cytometry experience is highly desirable
