About the Role

IQVIA is seeking an experienced Manager, Clinical Operations to lead a team of clinical professionals supporting global clinical studies.
The role focuses on staff management, resource allocation, quality oversight, and ensuring operational excellence across clinical research activities.

This is a remote (home-based) position open to candidates based in the West Coast USA region.


Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management

  • Manage a team of clinical staff according to company policies and regulatory standards.

  • Plan, assign, and evaluate work performance while guiding team members’ professional development.

  • Conduct performance reviews, reward high performance, and handle employee relations or disciplinary matters.

  • Participate in the hiring process, including reviewing candidates and interviewing potential hires.

  • Ensure new employees are effectively onboarded and trained.

Operational Oversight

  • Ensure staff have appropriate systems access, materials, and training to perform their responsibilities effectively.

  • Oversee the execution of training plans, including SOP reviews and compliance updates.

  • Assign staff to clinical research projects based on experience, availability, and study requirements.

  • Review and evaluate the quality of clinical work performed by assigned staff.

  • Identify performance or quality deficiencies and implement corrective action plans.

Performance & Quality Monitoring

  • Ensure defined workload, quality, and compliance metrics are achieved.

  • Conduct regular performance and workload assessments and report findings to management.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to resolve project-related issues and deliver top-tier client service.

  • Participate in corporate quality initiatives and process improvement programs to enhance efficiency and compliance.


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific discipline or healthcare field (required; advanced degree preferred).

Experience

  • Prior clinical trial experience with proven management or leadership responsibilities.

  • Strong understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and ICH guidelines.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Effective time management and ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with coworkers, management, and clients.


Compensation

  • Base Pay Range: $86,500.00 – $216,000.00 (annualized)

  • Actual pay may vary depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
