Role Overview

The Intern – Clinical Operations (Global Clinical Site Partnership) will support tools, data, and strategic initiatives that enhance site engagement and operational performance across global clinical trials. This role provides exposure to cross-functional teams and real-world project execution in clinical development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of CSP tools, trackers, and dashboards, including site engagement metrics and enrollment progress.

  • Perform data analysis and visualization to identify trends in site performance and operational efficiency for leadership reporting.

  • Participate in cross-functional collaboration with Clinical Operations, Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, and CRO partners to support ongoing programs.

  • Assist in preparing study-level and program-level summaries related to site feedback, operational insights, and process improvement recommendations.

  • Support logistics, documentation, and content development for CSP meetings, workshops, and global summits.

  • Conduct literature or industry research focused on site engagement, trial diversity, and patient-centric operational models.

  • Assist in developing communication materials or training content that reflect Gilead’s principles of transparency, inclusion, and excellence.

  • Present a final internship project summarizing key contributions.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum age 18 years.

  • Minimum GPA of 2.8.

  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, or eligible through CPT/OPT.

  • Full-time enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA, or PhD program at an accredited U.S. institution.

  • Academic standing: Rising Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate/Doctoral student.

  • Must be enrolled full-time in the Fall semester following the internship.

  • Ability to complete a 10–12 week internship between May and August.

  • Willingness to relocate if required and work onsite for the internship duration.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree focus: Undergraduate, Graduate, MBA, PhD, or PharmD in a relevant discipline.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines.

  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and professional integrity.


Experience Required (in Years)

  • 0–1 year of experience with data analysis or administrative support through coursework, internships, or academic projects.

  • 0–2 years of exposure to clinical research, public health, healthcare operations, or related fields (preferred).

  • 1 year of experience using MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint) in academic or project environments (preferred).


Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly Range: USD 19.00 – USD 55.00

  • Actual compensation varies based on education level and geographic location.

  • Benefits include paid holidays, sick time, and housing stipends for eligible interns.
