Overview

Genmab is seeking a Medical Affairs Strategy and Operations Intern to join its Medical Affairs team for a 10-week summer internship. This internship provides hands-on experience in pharmaceutical strategy, operations, and data-driven decision-making, offering exposure across multiple therapeutic areas and cross-functional teams.

The role is ideal for students pursuing an advanced degree in Life Sciences, Public Health, Pharmacy, or Business Analytics (PharmD, PhD, MS, MPH, MBA) who are eager to gain real-world experience in medical affairs strategy and operations while contributing to impactful projects in a global biotech environment.


Key Responsibilities

Medical Affairs Strategy Support:

  • Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Medical Affairs Strategy and Operations on ongoing and new projects.

  • Gain exposure to strategic initiatives that ensure the safe and effective use of medicines and improve awareness among healthcare professionals and patients.

  • Conduct portfolio analytics, supporting long-term forecasting and strategic planning.

Data & Insights Management:

  • Assist with data analytics projects to measure the impact of medical affairs initiatives.

  • Organize and maintain insight documents and repositories for faster access and impact.

  • Track insights from internal and external scientific conversations to guide strategic decision-making.

Operational Support & Collaboration:

  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to smooth project execution.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and efficient solutions that enhance field operations and organizational impact.


Required Qualifications

  • Enrollment in an advanced degree program in life sciences (PharmD, PhD, MS, MPH, MBA).

  • Strong interest in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry.

  • Ability to communicate complex scientific information effectively to diverse stakeholders.

  • Independent, proactive, flexible, and able to work collaboratively in teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven track record of leadership, project management, and teamwork.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, CoPilot).

  • Detail-oriented with a “can-do” attitude and innovative mindset.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with SharePoint, ChatGPT, or other information technology tools.

  • Prior academic or industrial clinical trial experience.

  • Leadership experience in campus or community activities.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to contribute creatively to team initiatives.


Internship Details

  • Hybrid Schedule: 3 days onsite in Princeton, NJ; 2 days remote per week.

  • Eligibility: Open to advanced degree students; not eligible for visa sponsorship.

  • Experience: Gain practical exposure to medical affairs strategy, operational analytics, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Mentorship & Development: Work closely with experienced mentors to develop strategic, analytical, and operational skills that form a strong career foundation in pharma/biotech.
