Position Overview:
The Inpatient Pharmacist at Dayton Children's Hospital is responsible for providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care through integrated drug distribution and clinical services. This includes ensuring safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy for pediatric patients. The pharmacist will collaborate with the patient care team to monitor the effectiveness of therapy, provide drug information, and ensure the safe dispensing of medications. The role also involves overseeing pharmacy students and technicians and verifying products prepared by them.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations to ensure safe and appropriate medication delivery.
  • Collaborate with the patient care team to monitor therapy effectiveness and adjust treatments as needed.
  • Provide drug information to healthcare professionals, pediatric patients, and their families.
  • Review physician orders and coordinate medication dispensing.
  • Supervise pharmacy students and technicians, verifying their work.

Education and Licensure:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD Degree required.
  • Registered Pharmacist (Rph) licensure in Ohio, as per the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
