Coder Inpatient – Remote (Boca Raton, FL, United States)

PRN Position | Advanced Inpatient Coding | Acute Care & Trauma Level II

Position Overview

Omega Healthcare is seeking an experienced Coder Inpatient with a strong background in acute care and trauma Level II facilities. This role requires a minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience, deep familiarity with complex specialty cases, and hands-on experience with EPIC and 3M/Solventum coding systems. The schedule is PRN, with weekly hours determined based on client requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate inpatient coding for a wide array of specialties, including Critical Care, Cardiology, Vascular, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, General Medicine/Surgery, Oncology, Pediatrics, Neonatal, Rehabilitation, and Behavioral Health.

  • Code both medical and surgical cases with strong proficiency in acute care and trauma Level II documentation.

  • Review, abstract, and sequence diagnoses and procedural codes according to official coding guidelines and facility-specific requirements.

  • Maintain exceptional accuracy while consistently achieving assigned productivity goals.

  • Utilize EPIC and 3M/Solventum for coding, documentation review, and data entry.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure coding consistency, compliance, and workflow efficiency.

  • Uphold all regulatory and accreditation requirements, including HIPAA and company compliance standards.

  • Attend mandatory training sessions and adapt to flexible work hours based on weekly volume needs.


Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of inpatient coding experience in an acute care teaching hospital and trauma Level II facility.

  • Proven experience coding a wide range of specialties:

    • Critical Care

    • Cardiac and Vascular

    • Interventional Radiology

    • Oncology

    • Orthopedics

    • OB/GYN

    • Pediatrics and Neonatal

    • General Medicine and General Surgery

    • Behavioral Health/Psychiatry

  • Proficiency with EPIC and 3M/Solventum coding platforms.

  • Ability to consistently achieve 2.5 CPH productivity.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain minimum 95 percent accuracy.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Highly self-motivated, disciplined, and capable of working independently in a remote environment.

  • Flexible availability based on weekly coding volume and client needs.


Mandatory Certifications

Candidates must hold one of the following active credentials:

  • RHIA

  • RHIT

  • CCS

These certifications are required to qualify for this role.


Work Schedule

  • PRN role with flexible hours.

  • Weekly hours communicated every Friday for the following week (typically 10–30 hours but may vary).

  • Initial training conducted between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. CST for approximately two hours once system access is granted.

  • Additional training may be provided as needed.
