Job Title: Inpatient Facility Coder

About the Job: LaSalle Network is partnering with a medical provider to find an experienced Inpatient Facility Coder. This role involves accurately coding inpatient medical records using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS systems. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, pathophysiology, and federal regulations. The position requires a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification and at least 2 years of inpatient coding experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and analyze inpatient medical records to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures.
Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes accurately to inpatient records.
Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve documentation and coding discrepancies.
Participate in coding audits and quality assurance activities.
Stay current with coding guidelines and industry best practices.
Meet productivity and accuracy standards set by the coding department.

Requirements:

Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification is mandatory.
Minimum of 2 years of inpatient coding experience.
Proficiency in ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding systems.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and pathophysiology.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and coding software.
