Position Summary
The Field Specialist/Surgical Tech Educator is responsible for educating end-users (surgeons, nurses, and other OR staff) on the safe and effective use of medical devices across multiple product portfolios. This role provides professional clinical support in hospital/OR environments and collaborates closely with the client’s sales team to build clinical credibility and customer trust.
Key Responsibilities
Educate and train clinical staff on the use of medical devices
Support operating room procedures and in-servicing efforts
Deliver large and small group presentations on clinical products
Collaborate with sales teams to uncover and pursue opportunities
Provide analytics and insights to internal and external stakeholders
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clinicians and non-clinical decision-makers
Serve as a clinical resource to enhance product adoption and customer satisfaction
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (required)
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) (preferred)
2–3 years of experience in Medical Sales or Surgical Tech roles (3–5 years preferred)
Strong background in clinical education and training
Prior surgical leadership or management experience is advantageous
Ability to work independently and in collaboration with sales representatives
Required Skills & Competencies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Confident presenter with the ability to educate both small and large groups
Highly organized with strong territory and time management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Business acumen and decisiveness in clinical settings
Ability to work non-standard hours, including nights and weekends when necessary
Valid driver’s license required
Performance Expectations
Performance will be evaluated based on collaboration with sales, effectiveness in education delivery, clinical support quality, and peer/customer feedback.
Employees will receive performance comparisons with other Clinical Specialists.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 (dependent on experience, location, and qualifications)
