Role Overview

The Field Application Scientist – Single Use Division will serve as the primary technical interface between the sales team and clients, specializing in Single-Use Systems (SUS) such as BioProcess Containers, Single-Use Bioreactors, Fermenters, and Mixing systems. This role combines technical expertise, customer support, and hands-on field application to optimize client operations and advance Thermo Fisher’s bioprocess technologies.


Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Application Expertise:

  • Provide end-to-end technical support for Single-Use Systems, including design, development, optimization, and troubleshooting.

  • Conduct process mapping and recommend operational improvements using Thermo Fisher technologies.

  • Lead technical product demonstrations to support Commercial Sales initiatives.

  • Advise on User Requirements Specifications (URS), product briefs, and customer surveys.

  • Apply expertise to suggest process development studies and technical applications.

Customer Engagement & Collaboration:

  • Act as the voice of the customer (VOC) for Product Management to inform product development.

  • Address client inquiries and concerns, providing accurate technical solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product Management, and Sales.

  • Share market intelligence, competitor insights, and emerging technology trends with internal teams.

Training & Knowledge Sharing:

  • Lead workshops, training sessions, and seminars on Single-Use Systems applications.

  • Support knowledge culture initiatives, New Product Introductions (NPI), and process evaluations.

  • Ensure teams and clients are informed on latest technologies, standards, and best practices.


Candidate Profile

Education & Experience:

  • Postgraduate degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or Biosciences.

  • 6–12 years of experience in the Bioprocess, Biotech, or Vaccine industry.

  • Hands-on operational and technical experience with Single-Use Systems.

  • Solid understanding of bio-pharmaceutical and biotech processes and applications.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of cGMP and regulatory guidelines.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and provide client-focused solutions.

  • Excellent project management, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to operate with minimal supervision.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

  • Willingness to travel up to 60% and work from a remote home-based location.
