About the Role

The Scientist I – Protein Biology will be a key contributor to the Antibody Development team, supporting the design, development, and characterization of recombinant antibodies. This role focuses on applying molecular biology, immunology, and protein biology techniques to deliver high-quality antibody reagents for research applications. The position is well suited for early-career scientists seeking hands-on experience in antibody engineering within a structured, innovation-driven R&D environment.

About the Team – Antibody Development

The Antibody Development team is dedicated to engineering antibodies with high specificity and performance. Core activities include antibody design, development, purification, conjugation, and validation across a range of immunoassay platforms. The team’s mission is to advance product development while generating robust, product-specific scientific data to support global research communities.

Experience Required

  • 0–4 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree, or

  • A recent PhD in Life Sciences (degree submitted within the last 12 months)

Educational Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to recombinant antibody development programs using molecular and protein biology techniques

  • Plan and execute experiments with a strong focus on accuracy, reproducibility, and program timelines

  • Maintain detailed and timely documentation of experimental data in laboratory notebooks and data systems

  • Perform literature reviews to remain current with advancements in antibody development technologies

  • Compile, analyze, and present experimental data through written reports and oral presentations

  • Actively participate in team meetings, project discussions, and scientific reviews

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and project schedules

Required Technical Expertise

  • Experience processing blood or tissue samples and isolating cells, particularly mammalian PBMCs and splenocytes

  • Hands-on experience in aseptic culture, expansion, maintenance, and cryopreservation of mammalian cell lines and primary cells

  • Strong understanding of immunology and flow cytometry; experience with cell sorting is preferred

  • Demonstrated proficiency in ELISA and other immunoassay techniques

  • Working knowledge of molecular biology workflows including cloning, PCR, restriction digestion, ligation, transformation, plasmid preparation, and sequencing

  • Exposure to antibody development platforms is desirable

  • Ability to troubleshoot experimental challenges and propose practical scientific solutions

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and statistical tools such as GraphPad Prism

  • Academic or project experience demonstrated through publications, thesis work, or technical reports is advantageous
