JOB OVERVIEW

This role is focused on preclinical drug discovery research, specifically supporting the evaluation of new chemical entities (NCEs) and biologics in animal models. The position is part of the In-Vivo Biology & Molecular Pharmacology team and involves conducting pharmacology studies in neuroscience and behavioral research.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• In-Vivo Pharmacology Studies

  • Support in-vivo screening of NCEs and biologics in animal models.

  • Participate in proof-of-concept efficacy studies.

  • Evaluate compounds in neuroscience and behavioral pharmacology models.

• Animal Model Development

  • Develop, optimize, and validate rodent disease models.

  • Introduce new animal models and experimental techniques.

  • Support translational research activities.

• Experimental Execution

  • Independently conduct in-vivo studies.

  • Perform dosing, observations, and endpoint assessments.

  • Troubleshoot experimental challenges and ensure study quality.

• Laboratory Techniques

  • Perform ELISA assays.

  • Conduct SDS-PAGE experiments.

  • Use fluorescence-based analytical assays.

  • Perform UV-Visible spectroscopy.

  • Generate and analyze biological data.

• Data Analysis

  • Collect and organize experimental data.

  • Conduct statistical analysis.

  • Interpret pharmacology and efficacy results.

  • Prepare study reports and presentations.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED

• Animal Handling

  • Extensive rodent handling experience.

  • Experience with behavioral and neuroscience models.

  • Knowledge of animal welfare guidelines.

• Drug Administration

  • Oral dosing (PO).

  • Intraperitoneal (IP) administration.

  • Intravenous (IV) administration.

  • Subcutaneous (SC) administration.

  • Other routine administration routes.

• Sample Collection

  • Blood collection techniques.

  • Tissue harvesting.

  • Organ collection and processing.

• Surgical Skills

  • Rodent surgical procedures.

  • Pre- and post-operative animal care.

• Laboratory Skills

  • ELISA.

  • SDS-PAGE.

  • Fluorescence assays.

  • UV-Vis spectroscopy.

  • Basic molecular pharmacology techniques.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

  • M.Pharm (Pharmacology)

EXPERIENCE LEVEL

  • Experienced Level (typically 2–5 years relevant experience in preclinical pharmacology)
