Role Overview

Abbott is seeking an experienced Senior Field Clinical Specialist to join its Vascular Division. This is a fully remote, field-based role supporting clinical research, product development, and post-market clinical activities across the United States.

The Senior Field Clinical Specialist serves as a highly knowledgeable clinical expert within Global Clinical Affairs, providing leadership in the planning, execution, and oversight of clinical trials and data collection activities. This role requires extensive hands-on experience in catheterization lab environments and strong expertise in medical device technologies.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Research & Trial Support

  • Support the implementation of clinical study protocols and ensure timely completion of clinical reports.

  • Recruit and support clinical investigators; assist with study design discussions and cost negotiations.

  • Provide field-level oversight and support for Phase III and Phase IV clinical trials.

  • Monitor study progress, protocol compliance, and site performance to ensure data quality and patient safety.

  • Coordinate investigator initiations, site activities, and multi-site studies.

Safety, Compliance & Regulatory Support

  • Participate in adverse event reporting and safety monitoring activities.

  • Support preparation and submission of clinical documentation for regulatory agencies.

  • Ensure adherence to internal SOPs, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a clinical and technical liaison between Abbott and clinical sites.

  • Provide clinical insights and field feedback to internal teams including Clinical Affairs, R&D, Product Development, and Regulatory Affairs.

  • Serve as a consultant when collaborating with external partners under licensing agreements.


Education & Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree (required).

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Cath Lab and/or medical device clinical environments.

  • Extensive hands-on experience supporting vascular or interventional cardiology procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific or clinical discipline.

  • Experience with coronary and peripheral vascular technologies.

  • Prior clinical trial support experience.

  • Background in product development and medical device lifecycle support.

  • Experience as a Cath Lab Technician or Surgical Technician.

  • Familiarity with OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) technologies.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is USD 78,000 – 156,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Compensation may vary based on business needs and market conditions.
