🎯 Role Purpose

The Director – Cardiometabolic Health HEOR Research supports Health Economic and Outcomes Research (HEOR) and Real-World Evidence (RWE) initiatives to:

  • Accelerate equitable patient access

  • Transform healthcare delivery

  • Influence drug development, access decisions, product differentiation, and clinical decision-making

  • Lead strategic HEOR planning and execution for Lilly’s cardiometabolic health portfolio


🧠 Primary Responsibilities

1. Strategy

  • Integrate HEOR from early clinical development through commercialization

  • Develop and oversee HEOR research strategy for compounds in cardiometabolic health

  • Serve as strategic partner on lead/core teams

  • Formulate Patient-Focused Outcome (PFO), Real-World Evidence, and economic value strategies

2. Study Development and Execution

  • Conduct high-impact research across product lifecycle

  • Apply technical expertise in:

    • Statistical analysis

    • Economic modeling

    • Clinical trials

    • PFO development

    • Observational/epidemiologic research

    • Health technology assessment

  • Use disease-state knowledge to solve HEOR challenges related to registration, pricing, reimbursement, and access

3. Organizational Leadership and Influence

  • Link technical expertise with business acumen

  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Lead HEOR evidence planning and implementation with cross-functional teams

  • Influence business partners and external stakeholders to achieve goals

4. Information Dissemination

  • Communicate HEOR insights to internal teams, scientific community, and customers

  • Lead research dissemination through abstracts, posters, podium presentations, manuscripts, and promotional materials

  • Apply research findings to maximize impact on business and patient outcomes

5. Environmental Awareness

  • Stay updated on disease states, HEOR methodologies, and market trends

  • Anticipate and evaluate future HEOR information needs

  • Monitor internal and external factors influencing HEOR research

6. Project Management

  • Ensure HEOR projects meet timelines, budget, and scope

  • Coordinate research efforts with cross-functional teams and external collaborators


🎓 Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • Doctorate (PhD or MD) OR PharmD/MS degree

  • 10–12+ years of experience in creating, executing, and delivering HEOR strategies/projects


🛠 Other Preferences / Qualifications

  • Experience in pragmatic studies, regulatory-grade RWE, causal inference, wearables, or advanced modeling

  • Experience in obesity real-world evidence

  • Strong communication skills to translate complex scientific information

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across teams

  • Knowledge of healthcare systems in at least one of: US, Europe, Asia

  • Understanding of healthcare delivery models and clinical research

  • Technical expertise in:

    • Economic modeling/evaluation

    • Patient-focused outcomes

    • Real-world evidence

    • Burden of disease, epidemiology, statistics

    • Health care policy

  • Ability to drive research agendas to completion

  • Global perspective with customer focus and solution orientation


💰 Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $153,000 – $272,800

  • Eligible for company bonus
