Role Overview

The Consultant / Senior Consultant – HEOR role is part of Lilly’s Bengaluru Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) team. This position provides functional influence and coordination across therapy area teams and serves as a subject matter expert for assigned therapeutic areas or brands.

The role involves:

  • Collaborating with HEOR teams, International HTA, Therapy Area teams, and Project Management to execute projects.

  • Supporting development of team capabilities and scientific expertise.


Key Responsibilities

1. Document Preparation / Management (40%)

  • Provide technical expertise while planning, writing, editing, and reviewing HTA documents.

  • Ensure accuracy of data included in documents through quality checks.

  • Collate reviewer feedback and update documents accordingly to produce final versions.

  • Deliver documents (e.g., reimbursement dossiers) and provide therapy area expertise.

  • Manage multiple document types and timelines, negotiating changes with team members as required.

  • Ensure smooth and timely development of documents across teams.

2. Knowledge and Skills Development (30%)

  • Maintain and enhance knowledge of therapeutic areas, disease states, and compounds for assigned projects.

  • Maintain advanced understanding of health outcomes research, RWE studies, reimbursement dossiers, value messaging, economic evaluations, and patient-reported outcome studies.

  • Provide informal coaching, guidance, and technical support to team members.

  • Network and share best practices globally; implement projects and processes to optimize planning and execution.

  • Support cross-functional coaching, mentoring, and training initiatives.

3. Operational and Organizational Leadership (25%)

  • Ensure compliance with internal and external standards and policies.

  • Represent the Bengaluru HEOR team on cross-functional teams.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and strategic guidance within the HEOR organization.

  • Ensure execution of work plans to deliver timely, reliable outputs for stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with teams to assess risks and implement solutions.

  • Support team building, recognition, and diversity initiatives.

4. Capabilities Development & Stakeholder Value (5%)

  • Drive awareness and education of HEOR value within Lilly Bengaluru and IVA/GMA HEOR organizations.

  • Identify opportunities for capability enhancement.

  • Represent the HEOR team in leadership meetings to showcase team achievements and contributions.


Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Doctoral (PhD, DrPH, ScD, MD), Master’s, or PharmD degree required

Experience

  • At least 7 years of experience in health outcomes or health economics research

  • Proven experience managing project plans or portfolios for at least 3 years

  • Strong understanding of US and global healthcare systems

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to anticipate issues, diagnose root causes, and implement corrective actions

  • Ability to translate complex scientific information into clear, concise outputs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexible in varying environments, and capable of working with multiple stakeholder groups

  • Proven ability to influence across organizations and work across cultures and time zones
